The U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro wishes to inform the public that those applying for visas and U.S. Citizens will no longer be able to enter the Consulate building with cellular phones, iPods, computers, cameras, pen drives or other electronic devices. The purpose of this measure is to ensure faster and better service to visa applicants and to reduce the time spent waiting in line for entry.
The Consulate no longer has a storage facility for equipment under any circumstances.
